easy ideas for a spring porch

It’s hard to believe that in three weeks’ time, our garden will look like the photo below. Things are already starting to bloom, and I couldn’t be more excited. So that means really soon, I need to get outside with the mulch and the weed pulling for all things prep. Like, in the next week, soon. It’s crazy how you have to make time for such adult/home ownership things. Then, I’m going to want to plant a few more container flowers and zinnias… because our house has always been a “When You Give a Mouse a Cookie” situation. And this is only talking about the front. The list is ever-growing with fresh coats of paint and more refreshes this spring. So while I have the list I’m working through and all that prep work, I figured it was the perfect time to plan out a spring porch, and share it here. Easy Ideas for a Spring Porch!

This is one of my favorite views in the spring, and it’s come such a long way!

I had fun adding colorful finds that won’t be high maintenance this year. One of my very favorite things to do is mix in the real with the fake so that I can have a little less work on my hands.

Because in reality, it kind of looked like this before we cleaned, and added these fun things. Ahhh, the vestiges of Christmas. Yep, it was rough.

Again, that garden has a long way to go, but it’s crazy how much it will change in just a few weeks’ time. The porch in the meantime, is giving happiness. We’re ready to spring!

{Pssst: I have everything shown here in this list. Though the rocking chairs + Table are a little different. These are affiliate links so thank you for understanding.}

Planters: For the planters, I added these in the tall and shorter varieties. I anchored the bottoms with two layers of stacked bricks and propped the plants on top – this gave them height from the inside. I also braced them on each side with more bricks so that they don’t fall in the wind, though I’m still perfecting my process. The other night, we had a tornado warning. Only one fell over and it was still a half fall. ::laughs in southern:: I was going for volume here, and covering an ugly plug. {I loved the colors in these camellias + bougainvillea} I topped them off with this moss to help with that realistic feel.

We have a tiny but mighty porch, and to be honest, it’s one less thing I have to water. This area stays shaded most of the day, so it’s perfect for underneath.

• For the shorter pots: I added bricks to the bottom of these as well, because spring storms. I used these + this foam {I’d recommend the larger size} + these flowers in dark pink, light pink + blue. I also added the yellow in this, which I’ve had since 2021, and have held up wonderfully. I topped these off with more moss, as well.

• Pillows: Y’all know I’m a sucker for color. These pillows are perfect for the fresh season. {rocking chairs and table are similar}

Every time we have a wreath on our door, birds decide to either spend the night or stay and raise a family. We’ve had a few fly into the house, and we had to escort them out kindly. {No birds were harmed.} But we always end up with lot poop all over our porch. Fun times. So it needed a nice cleaning, to say the least.

Our old door mat had had it, too. So it was fun to add these fresh layers.

Wreath + Mats: I love the colors in this one {It comes in a small box and has to be fluffed, so don’t be alarmed if it looks too small upon arrival.} + layered this {base} + butterfly {top}

The wreath is so fun, and we love all the lovely colors to usher in the season.

While the real garden will take a moment, it’s really fun seeing how many trees are in full bloom. And so are my allergies.

But it’s definitely project season! I’ll be taking more photos as the garden is in bloom. It’s so fun with all that color.

This is one of my favorite views. It will be oh so striking when my zinnias bloom!

I’ll probably switch these out seasonally with other finds in the fall… when the weather is more appropriate. But for now, these are so fun, they’ll be shamelessly staying a while.

I’ve rounded up all of the exact finds, except for the middle table {similar} and rocking chairs. I’ve had them so long, they’ve gone out of stock… so I found similar ones of those as well. All the items can be found here!  Let us know if you find something useful. Happy spring!
