Hello friends and Merry Christmas week to you!
With just one sleep until our family arrives, I thought I’d sneak in and share a little peek at our bedroom refresh (and I’ll have more to say and show you after the holidays!).
If you remember months ago, we had plans to paint our room and I was torn on what color I was going to use to paint the walls and whether or not we’d want stripes!

Well, as you can see we made a decision! Once we decided, we never looked back!
We have been busy bees the past few weeks painting stripes (which has become one of our signature classic patterns in several of our homes over the years!), swapping furniture from room to room, and hanging new curtains.

We’re loving how cozy it feels now especially in the evening with the lamp and window candles glowing just before dark.
And during the day, the room feels so much lighter and happier—exactly as we hoped it would.

The color palette is the same as our lower level, just applied around the room in different ways.
The only new things in the room are the paint (same paint colors we have downstairs) and a couple of framed art prints — so no wonder it already feels like home.
We are so happy with the direction we decided to go.

While we are still making a few tweaks here and there, and have some furniture to paint after the holidays, this has already become one of my favorite rooms!
By the way, if you want to work on a decorating project along with me in your home this winter or just want to learn with me, come join me for my Wintering for HomeBodies virtual retreat! I’m so excited for winter! I’m doing a 5 week workshop on decorating and how to create a calm, cozy and collected home.

I’m sure most people were wrapping gifts and prepping the house and food over the weekend—which is what I should’ve been doing too 😆—but as usual I’m easily sidetracked around the holidays (why am I this way?!). Instead this weekend we were rearranging furniture and making a big mess instead of cleaning, but I have no regrets. I’m so glad I brought the rattan shelf in here (the same one I bought at a flea market for under $100…. you’ve seen it in three of our homes now 😬!).

I’ll be sharing more about the room choices and our next steps and plans after the holiday, but since the garland was up and the room was feeling so cozy, I thought I’d give this little sneak peek for anyone who is still checking in! 🙂 Scroll down for a few more pics and I’ll share the rest of the room in the new year.
More soon.
And don’t forget, I’d love to have you join me right after New Years to make our homes (and ourselves!!!) calm, cozy and collected. We’ll make January happier and more beautiful, too.
Next up, my Christmas tour!
