NYC brothers make new platform VryfID to help renters keep their information safe and secure

Two brothers in New York City are aiming to help potential renters and beyond keep their financial information all in one place without relinquishing their privacy.

VryfID is a new start-up with the goal of keeping online interactions safe and transparent. Founded by brothers Aiden Einhorn and Gabe Einhorn in October 2025, the company came from them coming face-to-face with how broken the system is for sharing personal documents.

Aiden Einhorn, a student at NYU Stern, was looking for apartments and when he would reach the application process, gathering all the information he needed, such as W-2s and social security numbers, would be time-consuming. Gabe, who had been working in real estate for a few years, also saw the cracks in the system.

“I’d tell the the broker, ‘Hey, I’m interested.’ He’d send me either an application form or he’d say, ‘Hey, email me these documents, fill out this application. If you need a guarantor, make sure to send me the same documents and then pay this fee for everyone,’” Aiden told amNewYork. “I have a guarantor because I’m a college student, and every time I have to then go to my father, get his documents, collect all my documents, get my roommates to do the same for their fathers. Trying to find that time and go as quick as possible because it’s very competitive in the city, and I said to Gabe, this process is awful, it’s super unfriendly to renters.”

“Real estate as an industry in general is very behind in regards to technology, we saw that even the basic level of sending personal information. I had guys who were getting $20 million loans from banks on a real estate property and they were just sending all the information via email,” said Gabe. “We saw that was a big need and then we also saw that there was a lot of scammers that were asking for loans or looking for apartments, whatever the transaction was, sending fraudulent bank statements, saying they have a lot more income than they really have, so we saw that we can really tackle that problem.”

VryfID is a place where renters can create a digital profile that stores all of their important information in one place under lock and key while also allowing them to share them with who they need to. You can also store your guarantor information on the same account, and you can also upload applications and have information pre-filled in based on your own documents.

Making VryfID secure was one of the top priorities for the Einhorns, so all VryfID users have the ability to password protect any information that gets sent or to revoke access to these documents at any time.

‘[Users] have control through time sensitive links. We watermark each document. You could track whose email opened it. You can revoke access; you don’t move on with every broker. Eventually you pick one apartment, so you don’t want the other brokers sitting with your father’s Social Security and tax returns,” said Aiden.

For renters, the team plans to make it easier for renters, particularly college students, to find an apartment in the platform.

“I know a lot of people who aren’t really happy living in dorms and are looking for apartments outside of the college campus. It’s very difficult, especially when you’re managing classes and you’re bouncing between jobs and if you have a guarantor,” said Anna Genov, a member of the VryfID team. “I definitely think that graduating students or upperclassmen is a really big, target for this.”

“Once we have renters actually on our platform, eventually the goal will be to eventually help them actually find that apartment,” said Aiden. “Another big problem is actually finding the apartment, which one matches what they’re looking for, so somehow becoming a matchmaker if we have like brokers and landlords on our platform.”

As VryfID continues to grow, they hope that their services can go beyond New York City renters, and anyone who needs to transfer documents for a financial transaction would be able to use the platform.

“It’s not just for the rental market, but it’s for any real estate transaction and then really any transaction in general where you’re dealing with personal information. You have to send personal information whether it’s for your financial planner, your CPA, your lawyer, and you’re dealing with that personal information,” said Gabe. “We want that that transaction to one, be secure and number two, be verified that you’re sending it to the right person. So we see it really expanding from the rental market in real estate to any personal transaction like that.”
