wishing you a happy + hopeful 2026

There’s always something so refreshing about the new year ahead. This year, we took a much-needed reset, which always helps before diving back in. Each December, I tend to cross the finish line like a weary, frazzled soldier, wondering how I’ll ever find the energy to remove those Christmas decorations or organize my closet just like our good lord Marie Kondo and the attention-span-of-a-goldfish TikTok intended. So, rather than jumping headfirst into the next newfangled project, we’re embracing these feelings and resting instead.

{Psssst: Do you have a doggo who would love these crowns?
Check out how to make them here.

I once jumped into the new year with doe-eyed optimism and gusto, lists and plans in hand. In the gentle nudge of age, I’m learning that while New Year’s resolutions and goals are amazing {and I still have them}, what I want is to focus on being present. This year, those decorations are still up, the house isn’t instantly organized and clean, and I’m grounding myself in the now.

I once dreaded the arrival of winter, with its numbing cold and limiting allowances. But I now find myself in the middle of a soundless surrender. Searching the charged sky for snow days instead of resenting it. It’s a chance to embrace the fine art of hygge. The months ahead are a gift for a calm retreat: a chance to reflect and renew. I’m ready. And I’m embracing the quiet.

So here’s to 2026 and all the joy it brings in grounding myself in the present. Here’s to you and the gift of a fresh, beautiful restart.
