I know it’s all a trap, but a few days this week, while recovering from the worst cold known to man, I decided to go out on the back porch for about 30 minutes and soak up the sun’s rays, and I was reminded that I need rest, water, and sunlight just like a sad, neglected houseplant, but with slightly more complicated emotions whilst contemplating my latest existential crisis.

I’m pretty sure that, alongside some lady issues last week, my own body was in a conspiracy to shut down. The days are getting a teensy bit longer, and the weather is definitely trying to trick us, but it’s a sweet reminder that spring is actually on the way.

Sometimes I wonder why we don’t just drop it all and move to Florida, but I do enjoy living in a place with all four seasons. Even if winter is quietly trying to kill us.

So, to whoever needed to hear this, here are a few images that keep me inspired to fight the good fight as I recover, with the pallor of a weak Victorian child.

Spring is coming. Hold on tight. It’s going to be worth it.

Soon, there will be grass between your toes and fireflies and crickets again. There will be gatherings, pool parties, and fun moments.
Sometimes I need a little gardening, a few flowers, and some color on my mind while I wait it out. Just me?

Minus the incoming pollen and impending allergy attack, of course. But in the meantime…

Next time the sun is out, go sit for a moment. You won’t regret it. {With sunscreen, of course.}

Here’s to chasing sunlight. And the things that inspire us to hold on just a little longer until we can get there.

Pssst… want to see more of our outside areas? Be sure to check out this gardening post, our backyard tour! Have an inspired day.
