a simple valentine’s tablescape – The Handmade Home

I’ve been really extra this year. I could make this the place where I over-explain why I’ve been so extra. But I’ll keep it to, 1. I’m a hopeless romantic, 2. My oldest left for college so I’m obviously compensating and 3. I’m fighting for my life with the winter and trying to make things more… palatable. I thought, why not do a fun Valentine’s tablescape for the fam or an awesome party? Because I can. And so I did. Today I’m sharing a few easy ideas: A simple Valentine’s Tablescape!

Our back room is always my favorite space to stage a hosting event. So I decided this would be the place to spread out and make it fun for the upcoming celebration. There’s a lot to be said about self-care in the winter and buying fresh flowers on occasion, along with absorbing all the sunlight that you possibly can with the sparkle of a shameful collection of mirrorballs to boot… and so I did. {But really, can one ever own too many mirrorballs? Hint: If you say yes, we can’t be friends.}

Plates: I started with layers, and I’m a big proponent of hoarding them because I really do enjoy hosting and all the variables that come with different themes. No worries, I’m an organized hoarder, so I’ll link up my sources where I can and some that are similar in substitution.

• I couldn’t resist these heart plates at Target, especially for their price.
• Next, we had these cute pink salad plates, underneath. {Similar sourced here} I mean, is it even Valentine’s if you don’t layer pink and red?
• Paired with these as the base – which layer amazingly with everything.
• Glasses – similar found here.

Fun fact: my daughter refuses to take down her tree, so I grabbed these little conversation hearts for her. They also make fun table toppers.

Because there are so many place settings at this one table {ten} – I do usually mix + match. These are out of stock  but I found some similar ones, {probably cuter} here.

And speaking of so many place settings, I did a mix of brass + copper silverware. {Similar, because again, I hoarder, so I’ve had them forever.}

I loved adding an assortment of flowers from Whole Foods – for some reason, they just always have the best options where I live. Similar giant vase here.

• I also added this table runner
• These adorable candlesticks + candlestick holders.

And because you can never own too many mirrorballs.

We hope you enjoyed our simple Valentine’s tablescape ideas, or that if got your wheels turning to celebrate the small things. {This is basically how we’re surviving this winter.}

PS. If you’re curious about the rest of this space, just be sure to check out the pool room, where I’ve shared all the other sources. We hope this is helpful!

As always, let us know if you have any questions. Have an inspired day! {Some of these are affiliate links, so thanks for understanding!
