We’ve been doing some rearranging around our house and now we have a painted dresser in our “keeping room” aka the living room.
We’re still figuring out what goes where in our home for maximum efficiency. You might remember this dresser, it used to be gold. We had it way back in our craftsman house and then in our Seattle home.
You can see the painted dresser “before” in two photos below.
In our home now it’s been in our hallway upstairs for a few years, but then we got a new cabinet that fit that space that worked better for we needed up there.
Since we want all the storage and surfaces we can get, I really didn’t want to get rid of a dresser. It’s really been handy all these years. Since there was absolutely no place upstairs for it, we bought it downstairs and fortunately with a little rearranging it fit right next to the fireplace. At least for now, I think this is a good spot for it.
I have since moved the lamp on it in the photo above to the Snug and love it there so I will probably do some lamp swapping in the coming days.
I’ve also always wanted to paint this dresser, so this was finally a good time to do it!
We had some left over paint from our entry and bedroom stripes, so we painted two coats of Misty Air by Benjamin Moore. Then we bought a can of semi gloss for the final coat. It turned out so pretty!
Remember this same dresser in our Seattle home?

And who remembers it in our bedroom almost 12 years ago!

Have you refreshed any furniture with paint lately? I have another painted dresser we relocated to a different room upstairs that I think we’ll repaint, too. It’s always fun to move furniture around and give it new life with paint, isn’t it?
